There is great debate in the translation community as to which machine translation (MT) engine is best. Pairaphrase provides you with multiple machine translation engines so you can determine for yourself. Here are some tips to get the best results:

Some Language Pairs will give you Better Results than Others

You will find that Pairaphrase translates some language pairs better than others. In some cases, you may find that you will get better results from Amazon for Italian (for instance) than from Google. Or you'll get better Dutch translations from Google better than Microsoft. In general, more widely used languages like Spanish, French and German will likely provide better results than Amharic, Latvian and Punjabi regardless of the MT engine chosen. It will take some experimenting on your part to determine which MT engine to use for which language pair.

Subject Matter Matters

You my find that Google is the best choice for Spanish automotive text. You might find that Amazon is best for health care and that Microsoft is great for software engineering. Again, you'll need to do some experimenting to find the right MT engine to get you the best results.

Reuse and Import your Legacy Translations

If your organization is producing significant amounts of translation, you're going to want to capture and store, for re-use, your new and old translations. You can use your legacy translations to improve the translation quality you receive from any of the Pairaphrase machine translation engines.

Edit your Translations in Pairaphrase

More than likely, regardless of whichever MT engine you choose, you will have to edit the translation. We suggest you edit your translations in Pairaphrase. Editing your translations in Pairaphrase automatically saves your edited translation in a Translation Memory and immediately uses it to improve your translations.
