Pairaphrase users can import term bases saved in TBX file format from almost any commercial translation memory product. TBX is an international standard (ISO 30042:2008), developed by ISO and the Localization Industry Standards Association (LISA).

In computer terms, TBX files are bilingual XML files that contain a source and target language. TBX files dramatically improve translation quality by delivering consistent terminology translations across many translation documents and translation requests.

Importing a TBX file is super simple. On your User Profile page you will see "Translation Memories" to your left. On that page you will see an orange import button. Simply pick your source and target languages, choose TBX and click on the Submit button.

TBX files will improve both file and gisting translations and are an important part of any translation management strategy.
