When you select the Amazon MT engine and sync your glossaries and translation memories, Amazon MT performs real-time machine learning to your translation requests. The Amazon MT engine will customize your translation using terms from your glossary (100% matches only) and matches (100%, Perfect Match and Fuzzy Match) from your translation memory. This requires significant computing power and more processing time. This translation process is called "custom translations".

On average, custom translations will take as long as 25 minutes to process. However, you should see significant post-editing time savings and higher quality translations. In the long run your translations should take less time to produce.
